Encapsulix announces qualification of ALD system for flexible OLED encapsulation at CEA LETI

Encapsulix launches new product

Encapsulix launches InfinityTM M200D, latest member of the product line of industrial ALD InfinityTM equipment. The M200D equipment deposits oxide layers as well as nanoscopic nanolaminats on substrates having dimensions up to 200mm x 200mm. It targets applications in R & D organizations working on a variety of components, such as OLED displays for connected devices (smart glasses, smart watches or flexible phone screens), advanced photovoltaics and batteries thin layers. Compact, flexible and optimized for R & D, Encapsulix InfinityTM M200D is based on the same technological core as the other members of the InfinityTM Family (M500D for substrates Gen 2.5 (500mm x 400mm) and M750D for substrates Gen 4.5 (750mm x 1000 mm)), ensuring a flawless transfer of process from R & D to manufacturing.
The delivery of the first M200D machine is scheduled for December 2015.

Airbus Group Development to support Encapsulix

Simiane, France May, 12th, 2014 : Encapsulix announced today that it received the support of Airbus Development Group .
With funding in the form of a participatory business loan, Airbus Development Group (formerly known as EADS Development) stands out as an actor in the financing chain and business support in the south of France, supporting ten companies per year.
Beyond strict financial support, Airbus Development Group can provide contacts and exchanges between operational department managers or management of Airbus Group and supported small companies, thereby contributing to economic development surrounding its French sites.
Encapsulix based in Simiane-Collongue, France, has developed technology and equipment for depositing ultra thin layers of the order of 10 to 100 nanometers thick, allowing to significantly extend the lifetime of certain materials and electronic components, removing corrosion from atmospheric water vapor.

Encapsulix SAS installs Infinitytm M500 Atomic Layer Deposition system at Astron Fiamm Safety, a leading OLED lighting manufacturer

Encapsulix SAS and Astron Fiamm Safety today announced that an Infinitytm M500 has been successfully installed in the production line at Astron Fiamm Safety. The system will be used for applications serving the residential, commercial, automotive and avionics markets. The order was announced in September 2013 and was awarded to Encapsulix SAS an Atomic Layer Deposition equipment company based in France with offices in the US. The Infinity ALD equipment platform was developed by Encapsulix SAS to address the universal need for geometrically scaled barrier and encapsulation coatings. These coatings are on the order of 10-100nm in thickness, with substrate sized ranging from 200mm to over 1 Meter by 1 Meter. The Infinitytm M500 system is capable of processing a 400mm by 500mm substrate and is configured to accommodate Astron Fiamm Safety’s Gen2 OLED production line.
“The Infinity M500 was selected as best in class in the areas of film performance as a barrier coating, throughput and overall cost of ownership for our demanding application” stated Bruno Dussert-Vidalet, CEO of Astron Fiamm Safety, and continued “ the Infinitytm M500 will also be utilized to develop coatings outside of the barrier application”. “We are very excited about our installed Infinitytm M500 system at Astron Fiamm Safety” stated Dr. Jacques Kools, founder and CEO of Encapsulix SAS. He also stated “Our Infinity ALD system clearly addresses the barrier film requirements for the OLED lighting and display, organic flexible electronics, data storage markets and further has applications in Semiconductor and industrial markets. Our cost of ownership and performance out paces other competing tool configurations and products”.

Encapsulix ships an Infinitytm M500 Atomic Layer Deposition production system to leading OLED lighting manufacturer

Infinity M500 ALD equipment

Encapsulix today announced that it has shipped an Infinitytm M500 to a leading OLED lighting manufacturer in Europe. The system will be used to deposit the encapsulation layer for OLED lighting devices, in applications such as residential, commercial, automotive, and avionics markets. As previously released the order was awarded to Encapsulix, an Atomic Layer Deposition equipment company based in France with offices in the US after an extensive evaluation of available ALD equipment suppliers of barrier and encapsulation coatings. “We are absolutely committed to the successful ramp-up of our technology at our customer site and are confident that our Infinitytm M500 will provide them a competitive advantage in many areas, such as barrier properties, device life time, and very importantly cost of ownership”, stated Dr. Jacques Kools, founder and CEO of Encapsulix. He also stated, “Our Infinity ALD product line addresses the barrier film requirements for the OLED lighting and display, organic and printed flexible electronics, data storage markets and further has applications in specific industrial markets”. The Infinity ALD equipment platform was developed by Encapsulix to address the universal need for geometrically scaled barrier coatings. These coating are on the order of 10-100nm in thickness, with substrate sized ranging from 200mm to over 1 Meter by 1 Meter. The Infinitytm M500 system shipped is capable of processing a 400mm by 500mm substrate ( e.g. glass or sheet to sheet flexible). This particular tool is configured for Gen2 or Gen 2.5 glass. The Infinitytm ALD family of equipment is configurable for any size substrate beyond Gen5.5 and in a Roll to Roll configuration for up to 1 Meter web widths. “The Infinitytm M500 innovation provides both barrier performance as well as unparalleled cost of ownership and reliability”, stated Emmanuel Lakios, EVP Encapsulix, and continued ”Unlike other complicated scanning mechanical head approaches our proprietary confined scanning gas is relatively simple and absolutely more reliable. While the barrier performance speaks for itself we also have the flexibility to deposit multi material laminate structures where other techniques have limitations. We believe that the scanning gas technology will be the chosen ALD solution for barrier and encapsulation films”. Download press release
